Today, we’re thrilled to introduce Apple’s latest software innovation, Liquid Glass, on macOS. It’s the next major step on our journey to bring the principles of biophilic design into a new digital age.
Designed by Apple to make interactions “fun and magical”, Liquid Glass is a translucent material crafted to bring vitality to software interactions. Navigational cues appear more like drops of rain on glass, and reflect and refract with its surroundings. It’s subtle, it’s simple, and it's intended to bring a level of vitality to controls and experience.
For Portal, it’s a natural evolution to our design. This seamless update deepens the sense of immersion in the natural world through a stunning visual and interactive redesign, meticulously crafted to evoke the serene beauty and fluidity of nature itself.
